On 21 December 1989, AirPlus started at its current headquarters in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt in Hessen. At that time, a dozen employees were committed to professionally managing business travel expenses. Today, the former Lufthansa project is one of the leading global players in the field of payment and settlement solutions for business travel management. Initially a shoe box was sufficient for customer data, but today the company has 50,000 corporate customers. And the handful of employees have long since grown to more than 1,300 colleagues who work from our 30 locations.
On the following pages we would like to introduce you to the history of our company, show you what AirPlus is all about and how we want to position ourselves for the future. And of course we also dare to take a look into the crystal ball and see how business travel could change in the next 30 years.
