FAQ
General questions
AirPlus offers different authentication methods: authentication can be done by a passkey, an authenticator solution, SMS or email.
Go to the AirPlus Portal > open the profile menu > click on Login Settings > click on Change Password
Go to the AirPlus Portal > open the profile menu > click on Profile Settings > then click on Personal Details > select your preferred communication channel.
The choice of login method is at the discretion of each individual user. It is not technically possible for the Program Manager (PM) to implement this decision company-wide. However, we will consider this as a potential development idea for the future.
Email TAN is currently still available as a login method. However, for security reasons, this option may be adjusted or restricted in the future. If any changes are made, we will inform you in advance about the available alternatives and the recommended secure login methods.
Passkey
In the AirPlus Portal, open the profile menu and select Login Settings > Manage passkeys. You can start the setup there and will be guided step by step through the registration of your passkey.
Passkeys provide a particularly high level of protection because they cannot be intercepted via email or SMS and cannot be entered on fake websites. This makes logging in not only more secure, but also easier: you confirm access directly on your registered device, for example using your device PIN, fingerprint or face recognition.
You can find your registered passkeys in the AirPlus Portal under Login Settings > Manage passkeys.
There you can see which password-free login methods are already registered for your account.
No. Once a passkey has been set up for your account, you do not need a password or TAN for this login method.
You confirm your login directly on your registered device, for example using your device PIN, fingerprint, face recognition or security key.
Yes. You can manage your passkeys in the AirPlus Portal at any time. To do so, open the profile menu and select Login Settings > Manage passkeys. There you can delete passkeys you no longer need and add new ones.
Authenticator solution
We recommend using an authenticator because this method offers a particularly high level of security. The authenticator generates time-limited one-time codes directly on your device, making it less vulnerable to phishing, unauthorized access to messages or message forwarding. This helps protect access to your AirPlus Portal even better while keeping the login process convenient.

Please note: If you use an authenticator solution it works automatically for the desktop version of the AirPlus Portal as well as for the Mobile Portal App.
If you no longer have access to the mobile device on which your authenticator is set up, please contact your AirPlus Customer Service. As a precaution, we recommend registering your authenticator on more than one device, for example on your mobile phone and additionally on your computer or another business device.
